Simple MapThis map shows the approximate layout of Turunç village. Some of the roads (particularly in the residential area away from the sea front) are in the planning stage.

Nevertheless, the basic set-up is that the village centre – shops, restaurants etc. lies along the main street just behind the beach. There are also many restaurants adjacent to the promenade.

As you can see, our apartment is at the back of the village (up a slight rise) and very close to the location of the Monday market. Taxis can be found outside the Mosque, the mini-bus (dolmus) terminus is near the bridge at the south end of the street and boats arrive and depart from the harbour.

As well as the expected restaurants, cafes and bars, the village also has a several small shops which are perfectly adequate for buying groceries etc. in a typical holiday stay although Marmaris has three excellent supermarkets (Kipa, Migros and Tansaş) for serious shopping. The village also has many gift shops selling jewellery, leather goods, clothes, pottery and the like. In the main street you will find a pharmacy and the local health centre. There are also hairdressers, and several travel agents where you can book a whole range of trips and hire cars – our favourite is J&M travel (on the main street opposite Şahin restaurant) where June is an excellent source of information and also has a mini-library of books. There is also a petrol station at the south end of the village on the road to Amos.
