Welcome to Turunç

The Region

Turunc Area MapHere's a map of the area around Marmaris where the Aegean coast meets the Mediterranean coast on a line running through Marmaris to the tip of the Loryma (Bozburun) peninsula.

According to the Turkish Tourist Board "The Aegean shores of Turkey are among the loveliest landscapes in the country. The magnificent coastline, lapped by the clear water of the Aegean Sea, abounds in vast and pristine beaches surrounded by olive groves, rocky crags and pine woods."

Behind these flowery words, the truth is that the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of Turkey have their share of large, busy, noisy resorts; Altinkum, Bodrum, Kuşadası, and nearby Marmaris would not be out of place on the Costa Del Sol.  So, if you want hectic nightlife, English Sunday Roast, bare chests, shaved heads, tattoos and earrings (and that’s just the guys) then Turunç is most certainly not for you.

If however, you want complete relaxation, the ability to make new friends (both locals and visitors), the opportunity to experience the culture of this fascinating country, guaranteed great weather – and all at very reasonable prices – then read on!
